Our Banksman / yardman courses are designed to provide your staff with the correct training and information to ensures that your company meet the legal requirements and will also reduces the risk of accidents when carrying out reversing manoeuvres. Every year a number of people are killed and seriously injured by vehicles on company sites. This course trains staff to reverse vehicles safely and avoid accidents.

Who Should Attend

Any banksman/yardman who is responsible for assisting in the manoeuvring and loading/unloading of vehicles within yards, warehouses and storage depots. Those who are involved with vehicle movements in factory yards, warehouses and storage depots.

Course Objectives

  • To know and understand the roles of the vehicle driver and the banksman/ yardman in reversing operations
  • The identify potential hazardous areas within the site
  • To understand the key issues arising out of reversing and manoeuvring
  • Identify areas of danger for reversing vehicles
  • Safeguarding pedestrians in an area where vehicles are reversing
  • Demonstrate recommended HSE code of hand signals and reversing procedure

Certificate

Delegates who successfully complete this course will be awarded a Banksman Training Certificate of attendance
